I made this little bird as a demonstration piece for the scraplets at FTN

I finished a few months ago but hadn't updated...soooo here it is

The other ink

those who know me know I have a couple of tattoos, I don't regret them, in fact I got another today...each one is symbolic to me...
The first one I got is the one on my chest, it is Celtic in style...my little Nan was Irish, it used to be coloured and looked more like the orchid I drew it as a few years ago...now it needs some work to bring it back to it's former glory...mind you most people who see it don't seem to be that interested in the tat but more in what it is on! lol
The next tat I got was the blue rose on my shoulder, my best friend back a few years ago has a similar one...I also had the initials of my then fiance...when we broke up I got the butterfly to cover his initials and to represent my freedom from the abusive relationship.
Last year I was at a point in my life where I was beginning to feel stuck in a rut, so the butterfly on my lower back represents my desire to to be free.
Today I got the initials my sons on my neck in Celtic style...I think tattoos are an addiction and I plan to get more...so who wants to know about my piercings? lol

OWL-tered art

I got up this morning to the owls, they were finally dry, so I could turn them over for backshot photos, rusty, textured and colour...rusty look using paint and gold emboss, textured using gel medium and a foam stamp and colour using resist stamping and starburst stains.

I also have added some closeup shots of the owl fronts, the glitter is my own fab mix and I call it snowglobe...it is divine with several silver and holographic glitters as well as silver and clear micropearls thrown into the mix.

37 and still kicking....oh yeah and some art

a huge hug and sincere thanks to all those who emailed me or sent me cards or art treasures for my Birthday yesterday, wow everybody amazing stuff, I am so thrilled to be thought of like that and for those who say I inspire them...you are more than welcome, I hope I continue to do so :)


the pictures I'm sharing here are (in no particular order), a mini round robin book, a stampboard piece that is replacing my canvas class due to the fact that we can't get enough Grungeboard :( , and the 3 owls are from the Collections range, I have shown just the front of them but each one has a different technique on the back...I'll take photos tomorrow when I can turn them over...still wet with diamond glaze.

Board book ~ Back Cover...the end :)

well in the words of Porky Pig thththththththat's all folks!
This is the back cover, the end, the conclusion of the board book and Simone suggested that I show my "signature techniques"....sooooo here you go, fusible film and liquid nails :)

Board book ~ Boy page...pre completion

This was the page that stumped me...I changed it so many times, adding different elements to that big open space you see on the right...in the end I adhered a phrase that was printed on vellum, I tore the edges and inked it with some dirty brown ink...so simple a solution and just right :)
...and why am I publishing unfinished pages instead of the completed project??? Teasers!!!

Board book ~ Baby Girl page

this is a picture I took of the baby girl page just before I finished it...yes the pictures are of me :)
Final touches include more flowers, bling, stamped words and organza ribbon.

Board book ~ Christmas page

Well the board book was finished Friday night and made it's way to Fred The Needle on Saturday morning, I have to say it was a really fun project (thanks Simone). It is a wonderful conversation piece in the store with product and classes selling as soon as it's viewed. For all the work put into it the project took a total of 14 hours to do...just under an hour and a half per L.O

Seen here is the Xmas page...in hand it looks somewhat different than the picture shown as I added Opal Dust, some silver shim snowflakes (hand punched), gold rope trim around the inside of the red frame boarder, a tiny silver Santa charm, I mounted the stamped images on some of the red velvet paper and added more bling...this all made the Xmas page far more glitzy but very pleasing to the eye.
