Fleur de Lis

I came across a group called Wednesday Stamper http://wednesdaystamper.wordpress.com/ and saw they have some fun challenges, so being the challenge hound that I am I decided to use one of Collections chipboard housies and happily decorated it according to the current challenge....Fleur de Lis :)

I used Stazon (Jet Black) to colour the board, stamped and embossed FdL images with fine detail gold, painted the board with PVA and then put some fusible film down and super heated it with my trusty heat gun, I then added the other little bits of previously prepared chipboard (comes with the house :) ) and stuck a gold FdL in the framed area...yes I stamped, embossed and then cut it out....it looks quite flat but if you look close enough you will see that I even cut out little pieces of it to show the colour through....hope that makes sense :)

I quite like it...very sparkly and colourful...nite photo doesn't do it justice though.

Fun with Collections

If I haven't said it before then I'll say it now....I loooooove to play and create and I looooove using the wonderful Collections products by Julie Van Oosten, today I got stuck into playing with the new chipboard house...I made four and of course had to incorporate some of the devine fusible film :)

I also have to say that JVO's lovely new chipbord keyholes are to die for....soooooo run run run and hunt them down!!! I rusted one with Tim Holtz distress embossing powder (Vintage Photo) and I think it is lovely

New Art dolls

I know I am just soooo hooked on fusible film and everything got it this session :)

The art dolls are for a swap, I had to make 9 and they had to be decorated both sides, the little reddish notebook is for a 1 on 1 swap through the same group, and the large blue dragonfly notebook and altered paper mache tin was made for Jenny Burns in Western Australia for her Birthday :)

Journey card

My Mum in-law asked me to make another card today, this one is for one of her work mates who is leaving to go to the USA for a couple of years

The one I made yesterday for the ill man was greatly appreciated (sigh of relief)

my day off

well I was told to slow down by my shrink...I did try but it's so hard not to get crafty when I have all my supplies all over the kitchen table :)

I did go out for a while to visit a friend but as soon as I got home I got busy again...not a great deal of stuff...just two cards...the one that isn't pictured here was a special request from my Mum in-law, it is for a gentleman who has just been told he is going to die...he has cancer and there is nothing that can be done for him. The card was simple and will be given to the Dr who diagnosed him because she will give him the card...I don't know if I'm making much sense, I'm still a little emotional, I sat for about an hour trying to think of what to do, I don't know the man, but it still made me feel....gosh I don't even know how or what to say.

My question is....is it pathetic to give a card to somebody who's life is about to end? I usually sign my work but I didn't this time, I didn't want him to see my name on the back and hate me for trying to take his mind off of his disease

The secret is out

a whole lot of shellacking

40 chunky pages for an international swap hosted by the amazing Jessie Scherf....the photos make them look a bit dull, I had my first play with shellac and decided to use it on the 5x5s, I used copper, gold and silver shim also....stamped corsette stamp on them and then dry embossed to emphasise the buttons and trim. I am really quite pleased with how they turned out :)

March

Well finally my Stampin Up kit arrived and I made my first sale yesterday, it was very relaxed and fun.

All my secret projects are going great.....I hate keeping secrets lol

I have just been asked to be a featured artist in one of my fave mags...very exciting!!!

I have been super busy with trades, swaps and various projects....plus the computer had a hissy fit, finally my own computer is back on line.
