My scrapper efforts

soooo everybody knows I'm not a scrapper, Tracy from FTN gave me a photo of her beautiful daughter to see what I could create with it...I have to say I am quite pleased with how it turned out :) I have put some better pics than the originals up...notise the light difference depending on where I place the art.
Sherry has had a sneak peak and wants some details of how I achieved the background...
*paint background with chosen acrylic colours (I always streak three)
*use a gold metalic ink and sponge over a chosen mask or stencil (I use Tattered Angels)
*stamp with an embossing pad and flourish stamp around the edges
*heat emboss using a gold powder
*mask/stencil with impasto
*dry
*stain with Moonglow's Starburst Stains
*smear with wax rub on (treasure gold or rub n buff)

Have fun :)

Project for FTN

Last year I did a vintage album for Fred the Needle, the classes were really successful and it is still requested, we thought it was about time I did another album...this is the back of just one page of the acrylic album...stay tuned for more :)

Gecko art

I looooove to play, it's just the best way to relax and unwind after studying hard, I love critters too, and geckos and lizards are right up there on my fave. critter list, so imagine how thrilled I was to get my hand on some fabtacular gecko shapes for me to decorate...of course at least one had to be textured...so here they are, my Twiddleybitz Glitzy Geckos :)
The largest is impasto, the mid size is resist stamping and the smallest is fusible film with some kindy glitz

***visit http://www.twiddleybitz.com/ to see the geckos and more...then email Sherry at sherryhoney24@hotmail.com to find out more about ordering

grades and new subjects

I got back my last assignment grades for my first two BA units...I got 65% for art (that accounts for 60% of the total grade...so I think that's pretty decent, and for the essay I got 85%...all in all I'm pretty pleased, I'm looking forward to seeing my final grade totals for both units, which I hope to see by the end of this coming week.
The above images are from the next two units I have begun...drawing and textiles...the felt art is wired and represents how my head feels when I have one of my migraines.
