Awards...revisited
hooroo all, I have recieved a few blogger awards this week and it made me think back on an earlier post I wrote... http://atclindab.blogspot.com/2008/07/awards.html
Please know that I appreciate being held in such high regard and I can't say sorry if it offends you or hurts your feelings because I think if I say sorry then I'm not standing by what I feel.
If you enjoy my art, just tell me or add my link to your blog, even tell others "hey you should see this blog".
The best reward for me is the knowledge that I have inspired you.
A closeup of my tablecloth
I received post comments from a couple of people about my tablecloth...people were impressed by the neatness...one of my regular students, Heather, knows the truth lol, she knows that although the room I photographed is tidy and organised that this is not a common thing and the poor old tablecloth is a definite art victim. Poor old plastic tablecloth is painted, melted, stretched, sliced, slashed...and well pretty much in a munted state...quite a woeful sight really.
Now to verify I do use my art room when it is just me but when I teach privately we sit at the kitchen table...the top picture is my kitchen table today...yes Heather I will clear it for next week...I promise :)

My work space
I have had a few requests to share a look-see at my work space...or part of, and as I had to fulfill that request for one of my uni units I am happy to oblige...it only took me three days to tidy up, not sure how long it will last and I have no idea where things are now...:)

Little Aussie Poppet
I made this little flat doll to travel over to the UK to stay with a new friend.
don't you just loooove her 50's Victory Rolls?
PA DT ~ Profile card
I hate trying to choose a photo when I submit profiles...it took me longer to do that than to complete the entire assignment!...I think I chose well....or not?! lol

PA DT ~ Transparent Art
I used an image of myself printed on transparency and attached it to the back of the acrylic piece...So I am transparent! lol
I also used hot glue on the back..always test first to make sure things won't buckle or warp...once the glue dries give it a zap with the heat gun to make it clear rather than frosted.
PA DT ~ Book Cover
I know this looks quite simple and plain but I really love it...I will have to make another so I can use it :)

PA DT ~ Altered Art
I just had to make another shoe...it's been far too long! lol
As part of my Paper Artsy design team assignment, I created this sweet piece...I have just a few more things to make to fulfill my commitment to this project but am having a great deal of fun with it....stay tuned for a bit more "teal toned" art :)
MY first attempt at making an apron
As the 50's style dress I made was going to be a bother to adjust (2 sizes too big...must learn that I'm not quite as plump as I feel), I salvaged the lovely fabric and put some of it to use in the construction of a vintage style apron. I used Butterick pattern B4087, I made apron "C".
My Mum bought me a dress makers dummy...now named "Fat Betty" and it was a great help...currently she is adorned with the Gothic spider wig I wore for Halloween, a strand of faux pearls (maybe one day I'll have some real pearls), and the apron...she's a fashionable dummy lol
a hat for Kylie
I decorated a faux top hat for my daughter to wear to a steampunk ball, I'm going to make one for myself I think but add a bit more :)
In memory...
I would like to extend my love to a couple of people who are important to me and who have both just lost a parent....my dear "Scotty" friend Louise who's mother has passed on and to my wonderful stepdad who just (over the weekend) lost his father.
I dedicate the poem below...not as my own but as it conveys the right message.
I am sorry for you both to have lost somebody you love.
God saw you getting tired. When a cure was not to be,
He closed his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me".
In tears we saw you sinking. We watched you fade away.
Our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully free from pain,
We could not wish you back to suffer so again.
So keep your arms around them Lord, and give them special care.
Make up for all they suffered and all that seemed unfair.

PA DT ~ Scrapbook Layout
the lovely lady in my LO is Nana Lil...when my older son was little he couldn't pronounce her name properly and it sounded as though he was calling her "Nana Little", so the nickname stuck :)
PA DT submissions ~ Xmas card
All my DT pieces for Paperartsy are in the same colour scheme...teal and blues and all are using the new squiggly Ink stamps
busy busy me
hooroo! yes I am still around but have been super busy with things, including a visit from my mum, she is still here for a couple more days, so I am still hard to pin down...lol
I thought I'd upload this pic of the fob watch I decorated for my daughter Kylie, she is attending a steampunk event soon...I'll be making some other bits and will blog them when they are done.
