pretty grungey

Anybody who knows me knows that I love grunge and I love pretty things, and both these things go well together. A few moths ago I saw some lovely organza flowers at Little Birdie Secrets and since then I have wanted to have a go at making my own, so last night a friend and I got out some fabric and had a play. They are so easy to make and you can keep them lovely like the flowers on the link or you can expose them to a little more heat/flame and make them grungey. Another style I tried was merely bunching up the scrappy frayed strips, stitch or wire to secure and then expose to the heat...I used a pilar candle as my heat source.

I love the photo with the candle, it's artistic in itself.

I have seen this before but i forget so much of everything I look at. This is an awsome finish to some thing quite ordinary when it started life. I am going shoping for some material i want to make a bag and see if I can find some scraps for lush flowers. love your creative mind thanx for sharing

Oh god. Linda over at L3 is absolutely correct -- these are AWESOME.

They'll be gorgeous in a design with a bit of wax seal.

The flowers are great. I love the burnt edges. Jo Ann's sells fabric remnants really cheap so I plan on looking for a vibrant chiffon piece.

I liked reading your disclaimer because so often I see cards that look similar and each have copy rights. I think part of the fun of art is seeing a design and making changes so it reflects my tastes.
