work in progress nearly done

gee am I slow or what, no not at all, just inundated with things to do.
Anyhoo here is some more work I have done on Trish's page...the photo totally sucks because it doesn't show the glitz very well but it's 11 at night so ya have to make do...impasto is drying on the other page.

Living doll

No I haven't lost my mind, I just decided that as I do my art dolls looking like this that I would see how I looked...I scared the heck out of the 11 year old but master 5 thought I looked beautiful...lol
Anyhoo it was a bit of harmless fun and I enjoyed myself...I've decided I don't ever want to grow up :)

next step

I decided to take my time with the piece I posted yesterday...it will be finished and on it's way to the UK by Wednesday but for now I am giving it minmal attention while I focus on gathering notes for my Baroque art assignment which is due at the end of the month.

I have glitzed a little by using Swirl glitter glue purchased from FTN...I love the stuff, instead of just one glitter colour it has two swirled together...very nice! I have a gold/silver (Twinkling Sparklers), blue/silver (Winter Time) and black/silver (Formal Tuxedo), for those of us who like Kindy Glitz, these are just divine!
Anyhoo...back on topic lol...I've stamped using PA's "Love & Kisses" (Squiggly Ink), I've also used some impasto for texture around the edge of one page...might do the other...maybe.
Tresure Gold's "White Fire" guilded where needed very nicely.

work in progress

wow it feels like forever since I last started some arty art but now that I have the results back from my first two uni assignments (78% essay on the use of art as decoration in Islamic Mosques and Palaces, and 65% for my practical project), I'm pleased that I did as well as I did and feel so much more relaxed. I know I'm babbling on again...anyhoo I have a double page to do in a round robin swap, and this is my background...so far...it will be a little glitzy and textured once it's finished (tomorrow), I also have something arty to finish for Glenda Laing...I'm thinking burlesque :)

On a person note...I am happy to say I have lost 10 kilos thanks to the
Tony Ferguson diet.

Another dress for the weekend

Vogue 8280 was my pattern of choice today...my one mistake was choice of fabric...I looooove the pattern and colour but it's not a very giving fabric, it's a thick cotton...Fat Betty looks great doesn't she?! It looks fabtacular on me but a bit hard to get a photo...so she is my model.
Well no more sewing till next weekend because I have to get back to my uni assignments and a few other fun activities...stay tuned for the awesome adventures of me!!!

how to not quite follow a pattern

I enjoy sewing...self taught of course...not great but not too bad, it's all about enjoying it right? Well I do, I like to try my hand at everything...but you guessed that by now right?
I began making a 50's style dress from a pattern (Vintage Vogue 2561), and it was going really well but then I stopped following the pattern and decided to change it just a little...into an apron, so from the front it looks like a dress but from behind it is an apron, I even attached a petticoat to foof it out a bit in traditional style.

YES IT IS A CORSET UNDERNEATH...I HAVE FOUND THAT WEARING ONE HAS HELPED WITH MY VERY BAD POSTURE...AND LOOKS UBER COOL TOO, THE ONE IN THE PIC IS A "WASPIE". IN TOTAL I OWN 3 CORSETS THAT I HAVE BOUGHT...YES I HAVE A PATTERN TO MAKE MY OWN WHEN I FIND THE TIME.
A great place to find some divine high compression corsets is Gallery Serpentine
